CLUB VELERS COLLSEROLA.

Our club was founded in October of 1985 by a group of friends who, after being flown over ten years together, decided to organize as an entity. At that time, had already spent a long time since Vicenç Fonolleda, Antoni Huerta, Paco Puchol, and some more, discovered the ability of our slopes to sailboat radicontrol flight.
  
Shortly after the founding of our club already had a large number of models, until the year 2006 the figure of 134 members, standing as the biggest club in Europe who practiced silent flight by radio only. Our flying area is located in the Serra de Collserola, giving its name to our club and the city boundaries in the North and West. This whole mountain is crowned by Mount Tibidabo. Our slopes are thus accessible even by public transport (Funicular Vallvidrera). We fly our models at the best of possible scenarios, with the city of Barcelona, at our feet.

The slopes that we have described allow you to fly the sail of medium size, as the flight conditions, both lift and landing, are limited. Access to them is strictly limited to club members for reasons of safety in flight. During spring and summer, the proximity to town and easy access make our slopes a reunion of almost daily. While governing the summer time, we can find on the slopes, preferably in the evenings.

As for the sports section, organizes every year, half of ten competitions or events, dedicated to our partners and the promotion of our sport-science among the young. Since very recently, the Club organizes Collserola Velers dedicated to the dissemination of our hobby among people with disabilities in collaboration with other institutions.

We meet the last Tuesday of the month in our unofficial headquarters, located in the Civic Center District Sarrià - Sant Gervasi, an entity with which we collaborate actively.

The Club Velers Collserola belongs also to the Parc de Consell Consultiu Collserola environment that focuses all our activities.
